August 22, 2008 Silver Dollar Speedway Chico CA. - Kyle Hirst and the #6 GP
Development 410 sprint car were in action at Silver Dollar Speedway tonight,
and an over all good night it was for the team. Kyle's night started off
with Kyle putting in a lap of 11.867 which translates into and average speed
of 75.841 around the Silver Dollar bullring. This time would put Kyle
in the 8th fastest time of the night, and make him start in the back of his
heat race.
Kyle would get a good start in his heat race running
hard to get into the top 4 and transfer out of his heat race straight into
the main event. And by the end of the 3rd lap Kyle had done just that,
passing the 11 car of John Michael Bunch. Kyle would hold onto the 4th
place position and get the transfer spot.
Main event Time would see Kyle starting in the 3rd
position Kyle would hold on to 3rd for most of the race till the 17
Tyler Walker would pass Kyle for 3rd and Kyle would quickly the spot back
and would pass the #21 car of Colby Wiesz and maintain the 2nd place finish.
Kyle Hirst brings home another top 10 to finish 2nd in points @ ASCS
Norhtwest Speedweek
ASCS NW Speedweek consists of six nights of racing at 5 different tracks.
Starting with Medford Oregons own Southern Oregon Speedway. Night two
will take the teams to Cottage Grove Oregon to put on a show at Cottage
Grove Speedway. Night three takes the teams to Lebanon Oregon,
Willamette Speedway. Night four is sure to be the most interesting
night as the teams head to Sunset Speedway in Banks Oregon. The last
two days consist of the teams traveling to Grays Harbor Raceway Park in Elma
Washington for a two day show to end Speedweek.
Night one of the racing Kyle came out with the elbows up and ready to
rock and roll. as he had to start towards the back of his heat race, as he
drew a high pill. This put Kyle in the 6th starting position on a
track that was not all that set for passing yet. Kyle did not let that
slow him down as he ran smooth and aggressive. Kyle would be in the
4th transfer position by lap 4 and would move up to third place finish by
the end of the heat race. This is important, because they only take 4
transfers with the rest of the field going to one of 2 B main events.
These B main events only take the top 2 so it is important to transfer out
of your heat.
Starting the A main event, Kyle would start in the 5th row inside, and
would work hard to run up front. Kyle would get as high as 2nd place,
but would eventually end up with a 4th place finish. This is important
because it takes consistency to stay in the top of the points.
Night two the team would fined itself at Cottage Grove. Kyle would
race hard and find himself transferring out of the heat race straight into
the main event with a 3rd place finish in his heat race. Kyle was
racing hard as he could starting 15th in the A main event. Once again,
Kyle would pass a lot of cars as he worked his way up the field. Kyle
settle for a top 10 finish on this night with a 9th place finish. The
team really wants to win some of these races up here in Oregon, It is great
to have a top 5 and a top 10 though, as the total points also have a pay out
as well.
Finishing towards the front was something that Kyle is just part of, as
he would put in a 3rd great night of racing at Willamette Speedway in
Lebanon Oregon. Kyle and the Rod Tiner prepared would have a great
night, as Kyle would finish first in his heat race taking all the advice
that Tiner gave him to run the car up front once again. This was a
good night because this was a track with limited passing tonight, and Kyle
would have the luck of the draw starting on the pole of his heat race, take
the lead and never look back.
A main event time started off with a track that was still not conditioned
for too much passing. Kyle would start 6th and finish in the same
spot, in the mean time he would gain points on the Jamie Barns to tie him
for 4thin over all points tonight.
Night 4 led the team to Sunset Speedway in Banks Oregon, where Kyle would
gain some points on the leader
Tonight's race is at a track that has not
hosted an ASCS NW race before, Sunset Speedway in Banks Oregon. Kyle
would run 3rd in his heat race tonight taking him straight into the main
event for the 4th night in a row. Kyle would then start in the 2nd row
of the main event, and would be able to bring in another top 5 finish
tonight, moving him up to 3rd place in the standings.
Friday and Saturday night the team was at Grays Harbor Raceway Park
in Elma, Washington for the final 2 races of ASCS Northwest Speedweek.
Kyle would once again bring home a pair of 10 finish in his

Kyle Hirst Moves from 12th place starting to Top 5 finish @ Calistoga
June 14th, 2008 - Kyle Hirst and team
headed to the Napa Valley to race at the Famed 1/2 mile of Calistoga
Speedway this weekend, and it was not a bad weekend. Qualifying was
not were Kyle normally qualifies but he made the best of his time of 18.603
seconds which was the 16th fast time. This would give Kyle a 3rd place
starting position for his heat race, where Kyle would make quick work of
Billy Cornwell and chase the #35 of Colby Wiesz. Kyle would drive
smart, and settle for the second place finish taking him directly into the A
Main event. Kyle said, "The car felt kind of weird after a few laps".
Kyle was right in that feeling as he realized that his front wing had
collapsed. losing much down force. The team would make quick repairs
though, and have things ready for the A Main event.
In the Main event, Kyle would start in the 12th
position and would run hard picking off cars here and there running a smart
race that would see him climb from 12th to a 5th place finish. In a
race that was marred by cautions, Kyle raced hard and used his smart racing
style to keep moving forward where at the end of the day, the Team was
in one piece.
Next up for Kyle Hirst and the Gary Perkins Racing Team
will be the Dirt Cup in Skagit WA. The team will leave on Wednesday
and looks forward to running for the 25,000 win on Saturday night.

Motorsports
Kyle Hirst Sets Fast Time @ Silver Dollar Speedway and
has 2 4th place finishes!!!
June 8, 2008 – Loomis CA – Kyle Hirst and the #6 Gary Perkins Motorsports
Team had a great weekend of Racing which included one Fast Time, and two 4th
place finishes. It all started Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway
running the # 6 Air Works, Killorn Construction, North State, ART, LRP

the weekly Silver Dollar Points show. After having a great run in Hot
laps, Kyle was on the gas and hooked up with his first qualifying lap
setting Fast Time, only to have his 2nd Lap be even faster with a lap time
of 11.779.
It is Great
to have this fast lap, but now Kyle's work was cut out for him having to
start in the 6th spot of heat race #1 where Kyle would get a great start,
and muscle his way up to a 3rd place by lap 2 which is where he would finish
giving him the transfer spot out of the 8 lap heat into the A Main Event.
Kyle would start in the 8th position and would quickly move into 6th on lap
3. Racing hard with Willie Croft, for the next 7 laps Kyle’s patience
would pay off as he would pass his future brother in law, on lap 11.
Kyle now set his sights on the Calistoga Native driver Mike Benson and after
3 laps would put that 5th place position in the books. On lap 15
driver of the 5h car, Christian Stover would his the wall going into turn
one, moving up Kyle into the 4th position. Kyle would then chase Roger
Crockett for the next 10 laps, just waiting for Roger to make a mistake, and
would end up with the 4th place finish for the night!!!
On Saturday
June 7th, Kyle and Team would head to Petaluma where Kyle would Qualify in
the 5th position. This Put Kyle in the 5th starting spot for the Heat
Race, where he would quickly move into the 3rd position and passing cars
high on the rim, but going into the next turns, the high line was not there
and Kyle would fall back to 6th. Kyle did not give up as he was able
to get into the 5th spot, but just fall short of the Transfer putting him
into the B main event. Kyle was fast in the B main event starting in
4th and making quick work of Mike Benson, and Roger Crockett moving into 2nd
my lap 6. Kyle would stay in 2nd transferring him into the A Main
event.
Kyle would
take his #6 GP Development into the A main event starting in the 11th
position. He would get a great start quickly getting past the # 52 of
Dave Lindt Jr. and the 0 of Jonathan Allard. And would come across the
line in 9th after the completion of the 1st lap. Mike Henry would
bring out a caution with the 5h of Christian Stover giving Kyle 2 more
positions. Kyle was Racing hard with the # 29 of Bud Kaeding for the
next 3 laps when he would make quick work of the veteran Driver on lap 6
moving from 6th to 4th as the #24 of Tyler Walker had troubles while
leading. The race would continue with Jason Statler, leading Brent
Kaeding, Roger Crockett, and Kyle Hirst running in 4th. Kyle would
do all he could to get my Roger Crockett, but the opportunity never
presented itself, and he was not able to get by the 7n of Crockett, and Kyle
would settle for the 4th place Finish.
Next weekend
the team is heading to Silver Dollar Speedway for the Friday night show, and
on Saturday the team will head to the Famed Calistoga Speedway in the Napa
Valley for the California Civil War Show.
Kyle uses his Hot Streak to get win @ Silver Dollar Speedway
Kyle
and the #6 GP Motorsports was in action at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico
CA this Saturday night and turned last weeks BBQ into a win. Kyle
qualified 11th with a time of 11.806 which placed him in the 4th starting
spot in heat race #3. Kyle would get a great start and move into 2nd
place by lap 2 and completed the next 7 laps in 2nd place picking up
the transfer to the A Main event. After the heat race action and
inversion, Kyle would be scheduled to start in the 3rd position but when the
car on the front was unable to start, it moved Kyle into the Top spot, where
he would take the Green Flag and never look back, and he would have Tyler
Walker and Tim Kaeding in pursuit, waiting for Kyle to make a mistake, but
as that did not happen. 25 laps later the Checkers would fall, and
Kyle would add to his list of wins this season. Next up for Kyle is
the California Civil War series at Placerville Speedway. See you
there.
Kyle Hirst Picks up Civil War Win at Placerville Speedway
Placerville Speedway April 9th 2008 - Kyle Hirst and the GP Development
Racing Team was in action this week at Placerville Speedway. It was an
awesome night for Kyle and crew as Kyle would start the night off with a
qualifying time of 10.660 seconds around Placerville's 1/4 mile Bull Ring.
Although the Qualifying was awesome, it put Kyle on the inside of row #3.
In the heat race Kyle would get a pretty good start, being patient and work
his way as high as 4th which would have giving him the transfer spot.
But in the end Jimmy Trulli would pass Kyle taking away the final transfer
position, and place Kyle in B Main Event starting on the inside of the 3rd
row. The civil war takes the top 6 positions into the A Main event, and
Kyle would get another great start, and would slowly jump into the 4th
position, where Kyle was able to maintain the 4th place finish, giving Kyle
his time back for the A Main event behind the inversion which tonight would
be the 10th position.
Kyle would get a great start and slowly pick off cars till about the mid way
point of the race, where he would catch David Robinson Jr,
pass him and never look back. The race was filled with Reds and
cautions but Kyle was able to stay out of trouble by racing smart and the
result was
victory for the Gary Perkins Racing # 6 team.
Next Race for the team will be on Friday April 18 @ Silver Dollar Speedway.
